This season is a time of renewal, introspection, and planning for the year ahead. As you consider your goals for the new year, keep in mind those which nourish and support all aspects of you--body, mind, & spirit. Real healing and accomplishment happens at all levels.
The body, mind, & spirit are all interdependent. If you have a healthy body, it feeds the mind & spirit. If your mind is balanced, it fosters the spirit & body. If your spirit is connected, it frees the body & mind.
If you're feeling stuck, stressed, or angry and your thoughts are running wild, try dropping your awareness about a foot and start thinking from your heart. When you're in your head, your thoughts are unorganized and raw and often don't provide the clarity you need or want. Thinking from your heart allows those wild and unruly thoughts of the mind to quiet down, and for you to get the valuable insight, amd often peace, that you need.
If you find yourself starting off sentences with "Back in my day...", be careful. Reminiscing can be fun & healthy at times, but spending too much time wishing for the way things used to be pulls you out of the reality of your life as it is right now. Now is the only moment you have. Don't wish it away.
There is a difference between being controlling & being in control. When we try to orchestrate events, situations, & the actions of other people in order to meet our own needs, we are controlling. However, when we take responsibility for our own thoughts & actions, and how these affect the events & situations around us, we are in control. Being in control rather than controlling is more empowering & results in more personal satisfaction. How can you shift from controlling to in control today?
